Rockstar was forced to admit the existence of Grand Theft Auto 6 after a series of leaks. We still don’t have a release date for the game, but the latest investor update from Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two, gives us a pretty good hint that the game will be released in 2024.
In Take-Two’s recent earnings report, the publisher predicted it would hit a record $8 billion in “net bookings” during its 2024-2025 fiscal year. years. By comparison, in 2022 Take-Two reported net bookings of $3.5 billion.
Take-Two also says it expects to maintain this momentum for years to come. There are very few games on the market that could give a publisher this level of confidence in future financial success. With Grand Theft Auto 6 being the sequel to one of the best-selling games of all time, GTA V, it seems likely that Take-Two has GTA 6 on its schedule for the next fiscal year.
Nothing has been officially announced yet. Usually Rockstar likes to announce their games about a year before launch. However, post-announcement delays are possible, as we saw with Red Dead Redemption 2.
