Just now is with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Link’s next big open world adventure came out, there’s already one new title the row the speech. And game director Hidemaro Fujibayashi appears to have big plans already.
Instead of relying on the success of Breath of the Wild-successor, he revealed in an interview that he is already working on a continuation of the successful franchise.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Game Director is already making plans for the sequel
During an interview the New York Times was privileged to conduct with producer Eiji Aonuma and Fujibayashi regarding the Tears of the Kingdom release, the latter revealed the exciting information. He already has “plans for the next Zelda game” up his sleeve – something even Aonuma didn’t know about at the time of the interview.
But his colleague’s approach shouldn’t come as a surprise to the producer, after all, the development of Tears of the Kingdom also began shortly after Breath of the Wild was launched in 2017. As a result, and based on the recent successes of the second part, it was only a matter of time before one would start thinking about further series offshoots.
Another statement by the developers gives hope for fresh food for the fans. That’s how they talked about the villain Ganondorf, who was already up to mischief in earlier parts such as The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. That would offer plenty of scope for additional nuances. His character in particular could be expanded a little with future titles.
“It’s very possible that we’ll see further development of the character and changes in his personality as the series progresses. Ganondorf is an ingredient that we use to complement the gameplay,” the developers explain in an interview. And while you’re fantasizing about the Tears of the Kingdom sequel, side with the Maker probably also quite inclined to a The Legend of Zelda film – assuming the fans want one just as badly.
