One of the more notable games released so far this year is Atomic Heart. Developed by studio Mundfish, the single-player first-person shooter has garnered a lot of attention thanks to its alternate history setting and Bioshock-inspired aesthetic. Just two months after launch, the game has been labeled a success – exceeding expectations according to publisher Focus Entertainment.
As reported by List23, Focus Entertainment recently released its latest financial statements for fiscal 2022, revealing that the publisher’s revenue grew by a significant 36% compared to fiscal 2021.
This increase in revenue was undoubtedly aided by the February 21 release of Atomic Heart, which according to Focus Entertainment exceeded expectations (among other releases; namely Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, A Plague Tale: Requiem and Evil West).
Although no official figures have been released, we do know that Atomic Heart has reached more than 5 million players flocking to the game in its first 3 weeks on the market – a truly impressive figure.
With a game that’s been on Xbox Game Pass since day one, it’s hard to tell exactly how many people have actually purchased the game. Still, as long as the publisher is happy with the performance, Atomic Heart looks to have a bright future ahead of it.
