A number of studios and publishers are abandoning expensive convention center rentals and large physical events in favor of online presentations that won’t break the budget but have virtually the same reach. However, Blizzard has decided to go against the grain and after the pandemic break, this year’s traditional fan festival BlizzCon will be held physically.
The last BlizzCon you could attend in person was in 2019. The following year was canceled due to the pandemic, in 2021 it was held online under the name BlizzConline, and last year’s conference did not take place due to the much-vaunted scandal of toxic company culture, rampant discrimination and sexual harassment, due to which the company as a whole expectedly did not feel a suitable atmosphere for organizing celebratory events.
However, he promises a spectacular comeback this year. BlizzCon 2023 will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center between November 3rd and 4th. We do not yet know what will be exhibited, but we should learn more about it next month.
