The Call of Duty board game is made by Arcane Wonders, the company behind successful board games like Sheriff of Nottingham and Furnace. Call of Duty: The Board Game has been announced through a trailer, with the board game slated to launch on Kickstarter this fall.
The developer has not yet released images of what the board game will look like, but in conversation with Polygon, the company says it has ambitious plans. Just like the games, Call of Duty: The Board Game must become more and more extensive.
“Call of Duty: The Board Game is a series of products within the same game system, starting with the initial core sets. From there additional products will add new features such as new operators, weapons, maps and even modes to play the game. In addition to competitive ways to play it, we are also creating a co-op campaign for 1 to 4 players.”
More board games from games
That there will be a board game from one of the most successful game franchises of all time is not surprising. In recent years, more board games have been made based on popular games.
Last year, Bandai Namco and Steamforged Games announced a board game from Elden Ring. A few months later, the announcement of The Last of Us: Escape the Dark also followed. The latter is made by Themeborne, in collaboration with Naughty Dog.
