This update for Dota 2 could be the most significant to the game in many years.
Dota 2 receives a new update called New Frontiers, and according to its own creators, it is one of the most significant updates in many years, since it expands the map by 40%. In addition to some minor UI changes and tweaking a few heroes, the battlefield is now, much bigger. And it has its own trailer.
According to the official site created for this update: “The Dota map has been greatly expanded. The core objective of the game remains the same: your lanes are no further from each other and everything you need to win is still in the center of the map. But with 40% more terrain, there’s plenty of room to harvest new resources and figure out new strategies.” The two main jungles have also been completely reconfigured, shaking up vision placement, juke routes, farming, and much more.”
The other significant change in New Frontiers is a new type of hero attribute. “Universal Heroes” are a new stat group made up of existing heroes that now gain 0.6 damage from each stat. There are also now two portals that players can use to instantly travel from one end of the map to the other, new outposts, new infiltration camps, and much more.
On the New Frontiers website you can find much more information.
