The Epic Games Store has kicked off another one of its “mystery periods” for the store’s free games. Instead of announcing which games are being given away week by week, upcoming deals are now being kept secret – which usually means Epic is giving away slightly bigger games than usual.
Death Stranding.
505 Games
The scheme was kicked off on Thursday, with Death Stranding being the first out the door. The Hideo Kojima game is free until May 25th, and all you have to do is swing by the game’s store listing and hit the button labeled “Get.”
Note that this is the second time the Epic store is giving away Death Stranding. The first time was admittedly only a 24-hour thing, in connection with the store’s Christmas gift sprinkling last year. This time, you have a whole week to make use of the offer.
Death Stranding sends players wandering through a bizarre world full of monsters and babies in tins. Our reviewer was very excited about the whimsical experience, and rolled an eight on the dice.
– This is not a game that is suitable for everyone. More than anything, I think this is a game you either love or hate, but if you know how to appreciate something completely out of the ordinary, can tolerate a little silence and reflection, and manage without bombs, explosions and action absolutely all the time, is it is quite possible that you will greatly appreciate what you are served here, wrote Espen Jansen.
