It would be an understatement to say that GTA 6 has been a bit delayed. The previous GTA game will be ten years old this year and in all that time official channels have not shown anything from GTA 6. That may change relatively soon.
In discussing the financial results of the past year, Take-Two also looks ahead to the following financial years. In fiscal year 2025, which runs from April 2024 through March 2025, the company expects more than 3 billion more in net bookings than in the past year. Moreover, it expects that increase through the planned release of “groundbreaking titles” that will set “new standards of quality and success”.
The huge expected increase for fiscal year 2025 is enough reason for many to think that GTA 6 should appear in that year. In addition, that game has previously been described as a groundbreaking title that will set a new standard. The link between large sales through a groundbreaking title and the release of GTA 6 is therefore quickly established.
GTA 6 release in 2024 not unexpected
A release of GTA 6 in 2024 would also be quite in line with what was already expected. For example, there were previously rumors that Rockstar wants to release the game in 2024. Microsoft also indicated in a document that it expects the release of GTA 6 sometime in 2024.
