Horizon Forbidden West, like its predecessor, was a huge success. A third part therefore seemed quite certain. Both Forbidden West and the Burning Shores DLC already contain hints of a new adventure here and there.
That has now been almost silently confirmed by Guerrilla in a message about studio boss Angie Smets. She takes on a new role at PlayStation Studios, changing leadership at Guerrilla. The studio writes that it has every confidence in that leadership and sees a bright future with “Aloys next adventure” and the online project that has been in the works for some time.
Which Horizon games are coming up?
It seems that fans of the Horizon games will not be short of anything. A VR game called Call of the Mountain was released earlier this year and now at least two new games are being worked on. There are also rumors of a Zero Dawn remaster.
Outside of the games, there’s even more going on with the franchise. It is one of the many games that Sony is making a film or series about. In this case it is a TV series for Netflix.
