Burning Shores, the DLC for Guerrilla Games’ second open world adventure Horizon Forbidden Westhas not been on the market for a week, but can already see itself heavy criticism exposed.
On Metacritic, some players are taking the paid extension to court and accusing the developer studio of spreading a “political agenda”. The reason for the rants couldn’t be more ridiculous, because it’s not about the gameplay, the technology or the story, just about a single kiss.
Horizon Forbidden West: A Controversial Kiss
If you don’t want to know whose lips (could) make contact in Horizon Forbidden West’s Burning Shores DLC, stop reading here – spoilers follow! If there was no time for romance between saving the world and fighting the dinosaur robots, Aloy can look forward to an intimate moment with her new companion Seyka towards the end of the expansion.
The kiss between the two is though totally optional: If you decide against it, you don’t even get to see the scene and therefore don’t have to get upset about it. Of the more than 1,200 user ratings are still over 800 negative and almost all anti-queer in nature. The result: a catastrophic user score of 3.2.
