Released on April 21st for consoles and PC, Dead Island 2 didn’t wait long to establish significant sales numbers. In just three days, the Dambuster Studios title registered more than 1 million copies sold and already has 20% of the target achieved by Dead Island in two years.
According to publisher Deep Silver, the feat makes reference to digital and physical sales worldwide. In addition to this record, other numbers were released by the developers, such as some activities performed by players during gameplay.
In total, 11 million hours were played, resulting in 28 million survivor deaths and 1.1 billion zombies exterminated. Regarding mutilations, the rates jump to 45 million zombies cut in half and 756 million severed limbs.
