Lords of the Fallen has attracted attention since the announcement, especially for the fact that we are talking about a game that “challenges” the Dark Souls series.
The heir to the From saga (which you can also find on Amazon) is therefore about to receive a real reboot, which will see the light by 2023.
Officially announced at the last Gamescom, Lords of the Fallen is a relaunch of the 2014 game of the same name, now developed by the CI Games team.
While the developer of the first Lords of the Fallen, Hexworks, would like to be in second place in the souls genre, the game from CI Games will be released on October 13, 2023.
Just below, you will find the trailer lasting less than 4 minutes (with the track “Fear of the Dark” degli Iron Maiden to form the background of the whole).
The plot of the first chapter immerses us in a dark fantasy world and follows the story of Harkyna doomed warrior who will seek redemption by defeating demonic creatures.
We will therefore be called upon to explore different environments with dark hues, fighting against enemies of all kinds and solving environmental puzzles, all with the classic mechanics of soulsborne.
Lords of the Fallen will also be based on the powerful graphics engine Unreal Engine 5 and will use Chaos Physics for an advanced simulation of clothes, chains, hair, belts and much more.
The game will also take advantage of the GI Lumenas well as the fact that Hexworks has built its own set of custom tools within Unreal Engine 5 to allow creation of two environments side by side.
We’ll see if this will be enough for Lords of the Fallen to make it the “second point of reference” of the genre to which it belongs.
Staying on the soulslike theme, in these hours the hopes of one day seeing a remake / remastered of Bloodborne have collapsed again.
As well as, apparently, the Elden Ring DLC would not be just around the corner either, unfortunately.
