finally, already Mortal Kombat 1 of NetherRealm Studios is official and will be released on September 19 for Xbox Series X / S, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch. Pre-orders will go live on May 19, granting access to the upcoming beta and Shang Tsung as a playable character. In a FAQ thread, the developer confirmed that the beta would be released in August.
Also, the purple fighting game will have three editions: Standard ($69.99), Premium ($109.99) y Kollector’s Edition ($249.99). Pricing is uniform across all platforms, though the Kollector’s Edition is exclusive to Xbox Series X/S and PS5. Those who purchase it or the Premium Edition also get early access to the game on September 14.
Along with Early Access, the Premium Edition features 1,250 Dragon Krystals as in-game currency and the Kombat Pack, which includes a Jean-Claude Van Damme skin for Johnny Cage. The latter also grants early access to six new characters and five new Kameo Fighters to be released after launch.
The Kollector’s Edition includes all the content of the Premium Edition but with 1,450 more Dragon Krystals. Also on offer is a Liu Kang sculpture, a game-inspired skin, three art prints, and a steel case.
The Xbox Series X/S and PS5 versions are developed by NetherRealm Studios. However, QLOC is working on the PC port, while Shiver Entertainment and Saber Interactive are developing the Nintendo Switch version.
