After several rumors, Mortal Kombat 1 has finally been officially revealed and will be released on September 19, 2023, but a question that many are asking is: Will Mortal Kombat 1 be released on PS4 or Xbox One?
NetherRealm and Warner Bros. Games have released an announcement trailer for Mortal Kombat 1, revealing our first official look. the short trailer offered nothing in terms of actual gameplay, the cinematics showed us plenty of gory details, from skull crushing to eye gouging to a poor soul being sliced ββin two.
Ahead of its September release, players who pre-order certain editions of the game will receive early access, as well as the chance to join the Mortal Kombat 1 beta in August. Pre-order editions include the typical standard edition, available both physically and digitally, and will offer access to the beta version. Players can also get their hands on the special Mortal Kombat 1 Premium Edition or Kollector’s Edition, both of which offer Early Access and Beta Access.

With pre-orders now available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch, where does this leave next-gen gamers hoping for a PS4 or Xbox One release?
According to an FAQ posted on the official Mortal Kombat website, the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 will only be available on PS 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
All versions of Mortal Kombat 1 are being built using technology from NetherRealm Studios, and PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game are being developed by the NetherRealm team. QLOC will handle the Steam and Epic Games Store versions, while Shiver Entertainment and Saber Interactive will develop the Nintendo Switch version.
