The wait is about to end. This Tuesday (25), Netflix announced that the third season of The Witcher will premiere in June 29th. Divided into two parts, the new cycle has its first trailer released and promises to bring a tense story focused on protecting Cirilla.

According to the description, the third season of The Witcher, starring Henry Cavill, Freya Allan and Anya Chalotra, will take the co-protagonists to the fortress of Aretuza. There, as Ciri seeks to understand her powers, a relentless hunt will begin, revealing political ruses about dark magic and betrayal.
So far, there are no further details about the number of episodes planned for the new year of the series. Lauren Hissrich returns as showrunner, while Henry Cavill (“Justice League”) will step down as Geralt of Rivia at the end of the second part.

A report recently published by the website Redanian Intelligence suggests that the creators of The Witcher plan the series for the long term, with at least five seasons planned. However, from the fourth cycle, Liam Hemsworth (“The Hunger Games”) will assume the role of the White Wolf as the protagonist. Click here to learn more.
