Star Wars Jedi Survivor will be released this Friday, so the physical copies have already arrived at various stores. This is evident from a Reddit post, on which someone already has quite a few boxes of the new Star Wars game at their disposal.
The cover of the game also clearly indicates that there is a ‘download required’ before you can get started with Star Wars Jedi Survivor. We’ve seen that before with titles that have a large file size and the new game certainly falls under that. Earlier it became clear that you need 155GB of storage space for Star Wars Jedi Survivor on PC and 147GB on the PS5.
How much data is on the disc?
Exactly how much data needs to be downloaded for the physical version is not clear. Since an Ultra-HD Blu-ray disc, the format that the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles use, has a limit of 100GB, a large part will still have to be downloaded in any case.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 players were not amused last year when they got their hands on the physical version of the game. The disc contained only 72MB of data, the rest all had to be downloaded. So the physical version basically came down to a digital version with a disc for decoration.
