While much is discussed about the relevance of artificial intelligence in the technology sectors, major references in the market believe in its benefits. In a recent interview, Shuhei Yoshida, from PlayStation Indies, reinforced that AI tools in game development can ensure greater efficiency.
Yoshida told The Guardian that he sees the impact of these features especially in relation to creative processes. According to him, AI in game development can change the industry as we know it, affecting programming methods, beautification techniques and data debugging processes.
I was going through 15 projects in a competition for indies in Japan this morning, and one of them had amazing, beautiful graphics done by a small team of students. They said they used Midjourney, the AI visual generator, to create the artwork. This is powerful, that a small number of young people can create an amazing looking game.

AI can produce very strange things, as you may have seen, and more beautiful things will be made by people. People may not even need to learn to program anymore if they learn to use these tools of the future. Creativity is more important, direction, how you envision what you want.
