In a corporate meeting held this Thursday (18), Sony brought more details about plans for the future of the entertainment industry. Focusing on “creativity and technology”, the manufacturer intends to expand the reach of the PS5 and maintain full chip production capacity.
The conference led by President and CEO Kenichiro Yoshida focused on the growth strategies of each business. The executive’s words were based on the Japanese term “Kando”, which would be something related to “filling the world with emotion”.
Regarding games, Sony has confirmed the distribution of 6.3 million PS5 units in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2022. These numbers were driven by the high productivity of the manufacturer’s machines, which are currently at their maximum power.
In addition, it was commented on the long-term intentions with Bungie, for Destiny 2. For the next few years, the idea is to expand the service technology capacity to strengthen the live gaming business, both in terms of console players how many active users on the PC.

Sony outlines plans beyond the gaming scene
Other highlights of the corporate meeting were comments on departments beyond the gaming sector. In general entertainment, Sony’s plans suggest continuing work for film and TV, including original projects like “The Last of Us”, “Gran Turismo” and “Twisted Metal”.
The anime sector will also be boosted by the company. In collaboration with Aniplex, the company aims to accelerate the growth of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba,” which is currently airing its third season on Crunchyroll.
Under the long-term vision of expanding the number of people directly connected to the Group to 1 billion people, Sony intends to continue delivering Kando in specific areas where communities are born, such as anime, games, and in India, learning from its users and making use them in your creations.
