“Spy x Family” debuted last year with an anime from the hand of WIT Studio y CloverWorks that hit it at all levels. Obviously, seeing the success it achieved, we were not going to be long without news about its return, which is exactly what happened. Therefore, taking into account that they are lining up more and more projects in relation to the Forgers, it seems to me the ideal moment to establish a viewing order for “Spy x Family”.
Spy x Family – Season 1 (Part 1)
No, “Spy x Family” never had a prequel (at least for now), so the best way to start is precisely with season 1 of the anime, and specifically with part 1. It is with this anime that we know all the members of the Forgers, mostly being Anya, Loid and Yor. Likewise, this first part of “Spy x Family” also marks very well what will be the general tone of the anime, combining slice-of-life elements with comedy scenes and also truly top action (In the end, it is what has to do with the fact that the anime was worked on by 2 of the best current studios).
Release date: April 9, 2022.
Where to watch: Crunchyroll.
Duration: 12 episodes.
Good Day
No, you haven’t missed a “Spy x Family” movie, OVA or anything similar. What is this ‘Good Day’ thing then? Well, it’s about a little music video that inspired Anya’s own character a few months ago. The theme is called precisely ‘Good Day’, and the person in charge of creating it at the time was (K)NoW_NAME, a creative group working under TOHO Animation itself. The video has no story content, so in that sense there is nothing to gain or lose from it (except for a cute little bit with Anya).
Spy x Family – Season 1 (Part 2)
With the main characters of “Spy x Family” being introduced in part 1 of the anime’s debut season, this part 2 could be used to start exploring comics in the context of the protagonists. For example: We were able to focus on Anya’s classmates as well as WISE, the spy organization Loid works for. Without taking big steps at the level of the main plot (which in the end is the one that goes through the mission that Loid has and for which the Forgers were created), this continuation really allows the anime universe to be more open.
Release date: October 1, 2022.
Where to watch: Cunchyroll.
Duration: 13 episodes.
Spy x Family Movie: Code: White
And we come to “Spy x Family Movie: Code: White“, the first film officially announced regarding “Spy x Family”. The thing is like this: there are no details at the plot level of the feature film, nor is its location in the chronology of the story entirely clear. However, it seems that aims to be a movie (not canon) as a spin-off through which to expand the anime experience. Of the little that is known is that it will last 2 hours and that its premiere in Japan will take place on December 22, 2023, but to clarify everything else, it seems that we will have to be patient.
Release date: December 22, 2023.

Spy x Family – Temporada 2
And we come to season 2 of “Spy x Family”, with the premiere planned for 2023. The most important thing to keep in mind regarding this new anime season is that it will surely imply a long wait in future episodic contents of the anime. The reason? Well, the first season of the anime of “Spy x Family” (between the 2 parts) adapted 7 of the 11 manga volumes available. If one assumes that this second season will end up with 11-12 episodes, it is most likely that by the end of it everything that has been created to date regarding the manga has been adapted.
Release date: October 2023.

Spy x Family season 2 official poster
And this is for now all that exists about the anime of “Spy x Family”, one that I’m sure it will continue to add content over the years in one way or another. In fact, the movie “Spy x Family Movie: Code: White” already seems to me a clear example of the intention of creating anime stories far from the canon, which will at least help keep the franchise active even if the manga is waiting. Come on, the “Spy x Family” ship still has a long way to go.
