Although it is known that Starfield proposes a really large number of planets to explore, how these were created was a mystery until very recently. In fact, the good Todd Howard took care of clarifying any doubts, who provided additional details on the process that led to the creation of the planets of the Bethesda title.
According to the developer’s words during a podcast episode, it would be technically wrong to talk about procedurally generated planets. Unlike what we saw in No Man’s Sky, the stars of the Microsoft exclusive they were obtained by making complex structures and other patterns by hand which, only at a later time, were placed randomly on the surface of the planet using a particular system specially created by Bethesda programmers.
The premises are certainly interesting, but to find out whether or not the final result is worthy of the players’ attention, we will only be able to find out next 11 June 2023 at 20:30 Italian timemoment in which we will be able to attend a long presentation of the gameplay of Starfield during which there will be sequences related to the exploration of the planets.
