During the showcase dedicated to The Division, Ubisoft showed off Heartland gameplay for the first timethe free-to-play spin-off of the series in development at Red Storm.
The Division Heartland takes players to the rural town of Silver Creek, in the central states of the USA, offering a PvEvP action shooter survival game system. Games on i Heartland servers will be structured in day and night sessions: during the day you will have to complete objectives, go in search of materials and resources, but also face enemies in the streets of Silver Creek. During the night, however, the situation becomes more complicated as much more dangerous enemies begin to appear on the map. In any case, during the raids it is possible to meet other players who may turn out to be hostile.
In the town of Silver Creek, the virus behaves differently, creating viral clouds that move unpredictably. To survive within the contaminated areas you must use a mask and filters, but the added risk will bring with it additional rewards. Be careful, though, dying in the field will mean losing everything what has been collected so far.
No news on a possible release date, but Ubisoft has announced that registrations for future The Division Heartland beta sessions are open on the official site.
