Update at 4pm: Netflix Italy has confirmed the debut of the series on June 29th next, with the trailer can be viewed just above.
The series will also be released in two parts, with Volume 2 being made official for the July 27, 2023.
Original news:
For the first time in the history of The WitcherSeason 3 will apparently be divided into two parts.
Recall that Henry Cavill will return to take on the role of Geralt of Rivia for the third series, inspired by the entire franchise (which you can also find on Amazon in the third chapter of the video game saga).
After all, the third season of The Witcher will return strongly to tell the story of the books, with a villain that would be taken directly from the pages of the novels.
As reported by Redanian Intelligence, Part I of Season 3 will be released on June 29, 2023. The second part will follow fortunately only a month later, ie on July 27, 2023.
It has not yet been announced whether the 8-episode season will be divided equally or not, but apparently there is a good chance that this will happen (in fact, we await an official announcement on the matter by Netflix in the next few hours).
As early as December 2022, the showrunner Lauren Hissrich he had talked about the possibility of dividing the new season into two parts.
“We haven’t talked about it yet [di dividere la stagione]but at this point I guess that’s what we see happening on all streaming channels I wouldn’t rule it out. […] So, God willing, we’ll get it all out at the same time. But who knows, we’ll see what happens.”
Picking up the ranks of the season two finale, the new episodes will see Geralt of Rivia being brought to safety Features (Freya Allan), as they flee from enemies of all kinds who are always on their trail. Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) will take care of the young girl’s magical training, taking her to the fortress of Aretuza to harness her power. However, it seems that danger is still lurking.
In the past few hours, an official poster of Season 3 has appeared online which in itself would also be moving on its own without the subtext of Cavill’s farewell, with the three protagonists locked in a truly tense and touching embrace.
The third season of The Witcher is in post-production for a June and July release. In any case, a spin-off dedicated to the “Band of Rats” would also be currently in pre-production.
Staying on the subject, recently an indiscretion had also emerged regarding the last scene filmed by the actor which, apparently, had turned out to be an April Fool’s joke.
