It’s been a while since season 2 of The Witcher came out. The last episode of the series aired in December 2021. Netflix has now finally announced when fans can enjoy season 3. The streaming service has done this via a teaser trailer.
The Witcher season 3 volume 1 will be released on Netflix on June 29. The streaming service has decided to split the season into two parts, as we have seen before with other series such as The Walking Dead and Attack on Titan. Surprisingly, it won’t be several months before Volume 2 of The Witcher Season 3 is released. That is already a month later on July 27.
Last season for Henry Cavill
Season 3 will be an important season for the show. This is Henry Cavill’s final season as Geralt of Rivia. The actor has decided to leave, but he himself has not disclosed a reason for his departure. Rumor has it that he left because he disagrees with the direction the series is taking, while others claim the production schedule is too busy.
The role of Geralt of Rivia will be taken over from season 4 by Liam Hemsworth, the brother of Chris Hemsworth, who has previously appeared in The Hunger Games, Independence Day: Resurgence and The Expendables 2.
