At the very beginning of the year, a new leak appeared claiming that a remake of the much-loved JRPG Persona 3 was in the works. In the months that followed, we heard new details about this project. The latest update from a leak claims that the highly anticipated remake will be shown at the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase.
This report comes from ResetEra user ‘Im A Hero Too’ who has shared many details about unreleased Persona projects in the past. According to the insider, for “anyone interested in Persona, it’s a must watch [Xbox Showcase].”
The Xbox Games Showcase will be broadcast live on Sunday, June 11 at 7 p.m. ET. This means we won’t have to wait long to get our first official look at the game.
Persona 3 exists in multiple incarnations: the original Persona 3; Persona 3 FES and Persona 3 Portable. Each of these three titles has its advantages and disadvantages. For example, Portable does not include 3D views, instead replacing them with static images. Despite that P3P has a lot more content and allows you to play as a completely new protagonist if you want.
Given that the full Persona 3 experience is split across multiple games, it would make sense for ATLUS to remake the title. The goal would be to add all the exclusive content from each release into one unique package.
