DRAMA, it French developer been working on the project for a few years, yesterday released a trailer of Unrecord, a Single player FPS in which we experience the action from the body cam of the police officer we play.
The great peculiarity of Unrecord it is the extreme degree of photorealism achieved thanks to the Unreal Engine 5. Here is the trailer that scored 1 million views in 24 hours:
Apparently, the shooter it will push hard on immersion and realism as an integral part of the experience, it will be a story driven FPS for single player and above all it is not a fake, as speculated by some after seeing the trailer. This is supported by Alexander Spindler, programmer and co-director of the game. Here is the tweet that translates to “For those who thought Unrecord was a fake or a video, I’m sorry”:

These are the main features of the game:
An original aiming system: free aiming with authentic ADS and unlimited hand movements. Die and try again to fight with a technical and minimalistic approach. There is no room for error; it’s up to you to develop your own tactics. Make dialogue choices that impact your experience, even during combat. A narrative FPS focused on a plot full of twists and turns, inspired by the best crime and thriller stories. Artistic direction that plays with the perspective of the video and bodycam footage, creating a trompe-l’œil experience (a pictorial current that gives the illusion of three-dimensionality, Ed).
Obviously, after a trailer like this, the community’s curiosity around Unrecord flared up. DRAMA describes it as “a mixture of Firewatch and Ready or Not”, however it is still too early to rub their hands. The project is still in its early stages, in fact on the official website we read that “Unrecord is still in the early stages of development and production. It doesn’t have a release date yet and we don’t expect it to come out this year. We are still looking for publishers and investors to support the studyon”. They are Steam you can add it to your wishlist to stay up to date on the status of the work.
