Viaplay’s latest quarterly figures are known. This shows that there is growth again. Since its introduction in the Netherlands, the number of subscribers has steadily increased.
Even now, the Netherlands is an important factor in the growth, according to Viaplay. The Polish and Dutch markets were largely responsible for the increase in subscribers. The live broadcasts of Formula 1 and the Premier League attract many viewers.

There are cancellations, but the number remains stable, according to Viaplay. Although the service is currently running at a loss, that was also in line with expectations. Investments have been made to buy the F1 rights from Poland and the service has recently launched in North America. Viaplay expects losses to ease over the course of the year and operations outside the Scandinavian home front to become profitable from next year.
Still a lot of criticism of Viaplay
Although Viaplay is still growing in the Netherlands, the mood among viewers is still not always positive. For example, the new F1 season started again with technical problems and viewers are still not happy with the comments, as a result of which customers did not appreciate the price increase that was implemented at the beginning of this year. An incident in which Viaplay canceled many annual subscriptions too early also caused a stir.
